Lap Band Post-Surgery

In the post surgery period of the Lap Band procedure, patients will adhere to a strict diet for several weeks in order for the body to adjust to the device. Lap Band Changes Lives in that it requires less food intake, while still allowing people to receive the necessary daily nutrients. The patient will fill up quicker when eating, thereby gaining less pounds over time.

As part of the post-surgery recovery, patients will be on programs that include a liquid diet, soft foods diet and a pureed foods diet. Patients can eventually return to more normal foods after a period of time, however things like spicy meals and carbonated beverages are advised against.
